"Look closely. Can you see him in the water? His eyes are closed, but he'll find his way. Even in darkness, he is triumphant. Through his senses he hunts for his food and learns to survive. Ancient and unchanged through countless generations, no one believed that he even existed.
My people are similar to the platypus in many ways. Like the platypus, when we hunt or travel, we depend on our senses to be our guide through the landscape. Just like the platypus we are unique. So too is my culture, the way of my people, it is our link to the land that nurtures our way of life, and strengthens our connection to the Dreaming."
