Comments

With this beautiful 2021 $1 Fine Proof Coin the Royal Australian Mint celebrates the Willandra Lakes Region and its astounding footprints in time.

Walking from the Dreamtime, across twenty millennia, the Mungo footprints come to us as a symbol of our First People’s longevity in this ancient land. Discovered in 2003 at Willandra Lakes in Mungo National Park, the preserved footprints give a glimpse of how we lived in the last ice age.

The coin has been released in a capsule in a plush case.

A Copper-nickel 20 Cent version of the coin was released in a coincard.
