Engraver: Susanna Blunt

Susanna Blunt is a Canadian portrait artist who designed the most recent portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the current Canadian coinage, which began in 2003. She was born in Harbin, China, the daughter of an English banker. Blunt started her studies at the Banff School of Fine Arts as a young teenager.

A maple leaf, in the center containing a poppy, the symbol of remembrance of the sacrifice in World War I and other wars, colored in red and surrounded with the word "Remember" in English and French below and the face value and country name above the poppy

Also known as the conspiracy coin, due to the red center, the US Secret Service believed there to be a microchip inside the coin, enabling them to be satellite tracked.
