John Flanagan (1865–1952)was a sculptor who was known for his designs for coins and medals.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Oklahoma's State Bird, in flight with its distinctive tail feathers spread. The bird is soaring over the State wildflower, the Indian Blanket, backed by a field of similar wildflowers.
