Sitting St Rupert above the arms of Salzburg and the Archbishop. Legend around for "Sanctus Rudbertus Episcopus Salisburgensis".

Legend from Psalm XXV of the Bible.
The tower is an allegory of Catholicism facing the threat of reformation. The Protestants were expelled from Salzburg in 1688 by Raitenau.
