Struck by the RAM and released in 2003 only in a PNC by Australia Post this NCLT coin is a fitting accompaniment to the 2002 50c issue commemorating 50 years of Accession to the throne. This coin celebrates 50 years of the crowning of the Queen.
Interesting element of this release is that the coin isn't the usual cupro nickel composition, it has been struck in Aluminium-bronze, which is the usual metal that the $1 & $2 coin is composed of.
A Fine Silver (.999) Proof version of the coin was also released in a capsule in a plush red case with limited edition certificate. (Mintage 13,500)
