The obverse design depicts "Singing Fish" as an environmental tourist characteristic of Batticaloa District.
In the coastal city of Batticaloa in Sri Lanka, people say there are 'singing fish' in the lagoon. Some say it's a myth, while others swear they have heard the 'singing fish'.
Passikudah is located approximately 45 minutes drive from Batticaloa. It is a small village, well known for tourism by locals and foreigners.
