Aksum was on the maritime trade route between the Roman (and later Byzantine) Empire and India. This coin seems to be compatible with the Silver Drachm from the Western Satrapies (Kshatrapas), successors of Indo-Scyths, who ruled over the Barygaza port, on the Indian coast.
