City of Brassó has issued gold and garas coins in its fight against the Prince of Transylvania, Gábor Báthori betwen 1612 and 1615. Most of the coins were used for paying mercenaries. The assembly of Gyulafehérvár (Alba Iulia) in 1615 has stopped that practice.
