Comments

As well as being for circulation, the 2007 Strike was issued as part of the Annual Coin Sets for 2007, in both Brilliant Uncirculated & Proof quality as well as being available in a BU pack (28,942 sales). The coin was also available in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof.


The coin was re-issued in 2009 as part of the 16-piece set (1,168 sales) to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 50 pence denomination. The 2009 issue was also struck in silver proof, gold proof and gold piedfort. Issue limit: 5,000.

The design was used again in 2019 with the Jody Clark fifth portrait to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 50p in the Culture set.
