The Royal Australian Mint issued this partially gold plated version of the standard definitive "Mob of Roos" $1 coin as part of the 2014 Year Proof Set.
Three of the five Kangaroos are gold plated. The coin is made out of Copper Nickel instead of the usual Aluminium Bronze to ensure that the Gold Plated Kangaroos stood out against the silver like background of the copper-nickel.
This Copper-Nickel version of the MOR coin was also produced as a pad printed coloured coin released in a coincard (KM#489.4). Refer to link below.
