Obverse

In the central part, Crowned Maximilian on a horse on hind legs, standing on the Coronation Hill, waving his sword in his right hand. Representation of the Danube and the Bratislava Castle in the background. Slovak Coat of Arms to the right and above. Date (8 . SEPT . 1563) below. Lettering between a solid circle and the coin's edge.

Script: Latin

Lettering: MAXIMILIAN . D . G . ROM . HVNG . BOEM . REX .

Translation: Maximilian, by God's grace Roman, Hungarian and Czech king.

Reverse

In the central part of the coin, the heraldic representation of the Bratislava Castle with the Hungarian Crown above, and the mintmark, signature and date below. The lettering is placed along the coin's edge.
