30th Anniversary of the Birth of the Duke of Cambridge
Portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right
ALDERNEY 10 POUNDS ELIZABETH II
The design is centred on The Duke of Cambridge’s personal Coat of Arms given to him to mark his 18th birthday. The design is derived from his father’s Coat of Arms with elements from the heraldic badge used by his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. The Duke’s Coat of Arms has been updated to include a Blue Garter sash to symbolise his appointment as Knight of the Garter.
Lettering: MCMLXXXII MMXII (representing 1982 and 2012 respectively) which is repeated around the perimeter of the edge and around the coat of arms in two lines of text.
Engraver: Thomas Docherty
The Duke of Cambridge Five-Ounce Silver Coin was available for a limited period until midnight on 20 July 2012.
The Silver Proof Five-Ounce Coin was housed in a wood-veneer presentation case and came with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
