Crowned bust of king right. In front of the face and behind the head pehlevi legend. A counterstamp (Bukharian tamgha) applied in the field.

Lettering: legend of Sogdian "pwy` r xw` b kana", on the right a kufic legend named al-Mahdi.

Translation: King of Bukhara al-Mahdi


In the center of the coin fire altar with a head of Ahura Mazda to the right. On both sides of the altar figures of attendants (mobeds).
