Comments

An undated piece minted in the Luxembourg mint during the first personal government of Wenceslaus II (1383 - 1388).

Coin referred to popularly as "Gans" because of the eagle depicted on the obverse.
According to a count of the VDL, a Gans was worth two old Blan-Gros (Weiller, p. 77).

The first issue of this coin (more rare) is characterized by the x in the legend.
The x was then replaced by dots. The coin shown on this sheet is therefore not part of the first issue.

3 variants of legends are known for the obverse and 5 for the reverse.

Out of 102 pieces analyzed by Weiller, the average weight was 3.0 grams.
The extreme weights were 2.24 and 3.18 grams.
