An amber disc, one of the most characteristic symbols of the Baltic culture, decorated with a crosspiece of drilled dots — an ornament symbolising the world’s axis. The country name is at the top flanked by the mint mark and the date. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union.
