This NCLT coin was released by the RAM as part of a limited edition metal box set of Holden Heritage 50 cent NCLT coins.
There were eleven other pad printed coins in the set. Only 7500 Limited Edition sets were made and the only way to get this coin was as part of this set. Each coin in the set was issued in a coincard.
This coin is commemorating 160 years since J. A. Holden set up a saddlery business in Adelaide in 1856. The business eventually turned into a major automobile manufacturing company called General Motors Holden. The eleven other 50 cent coins that were part of the box set were also sold separately from the box set.
This coin is fetching very big prices on the secondary market, $750 and upwards.
