Saint Pierre and Miquelon is a group of small islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, south of Newfoundland, Canada. The islands are as close as 25 kilometres from Canada. Although part of France and the European Union, they have special immigration procedures, and European Union nationals who are not French citizens are not allowed to exercise free movement and business establishment in the archipelago. This essay is one of the first coins of this island.
