Coins from the Duchy of Prussia

The Duchy of Prussia is a hereditary territorial principality vassal of the King of Poland, founded in 1525 during the secularization of the Teutonic State by its Grand Master Albert of Brandenburg-Ansbach. In 1618, the duchy fell to the elector of Brandenburg John III Sigismund, of the house of Hohenzollern. Thus is achieved a personal union of the two territories (State of Brandenburg-Prussia), which is the foundation of the Kingdom of Prussia of the 18th century.
