St Helena, Ascension Island & Tristan da Cunha form a British Overseas Territory located in the southern half of the Atlantic. The islands are the most remote inhabited places in the world, with only Ascension Island having an airstrip and the others only accessible by boat. 4000 people live on St Helena, 900 on Ascension Island and 300 on Tristan da Cunha. They all have used the Saint Helena Pound (which is based on GBP) since 1984.
