Coins from the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar

The Duchy of Saxe-Weimar was created in 1572 when the Ernestine Duchy of Saxony was divided into two parts - the second part constituting the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Eisenach. From 1741, Saxe-Weimar was governed in personal union with the Duchy of Saxe-Eisenach; in 1809, the two duchies were united and raised to the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach.
