Coins from the City of Svač

The City of Svač existed from the 5th century AD, although not much information is known about the city. In 1242, the Mongols destroyed Svač, but Queen Jelena of Serbia ordered its reconstruction. Around 1571, the city was attacked again, this time by the Ottoman Empire. The city was completely destroyed in the attack and was never rebuilt, leaving it to only be uncovered by modern archaeologists.
