Coins from the Landgraviate of Thuringia

The Landgraviate of Thuringia is a former state of the Holy Roman Empire created in 1111 during the reign of Emperor Henry V. The Landgraves of Thuringia were among the most powerful princes of the Empire. The dynasty of the Landgraves died out with the death of Henry Raspus in 1247, triggering the War of the Thuringian Succession.
