Banknotes from Yugoslavia

Yugoslavia was a country between 1918 and 1992 that united the South Slav nations of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Macedonia and included the now disputed country of Kosovo, which has an Albanian majority. Its dissolution led to the Yugoslav Wars, a series of intermittent conflicts from 1991 until 1999. From 1992 until 2003 the name Yugoslavia was used for the remaining union of Serbia and Montenegro. The name Yugoslavia literally means "South Slavia".
