Hello to all,
I was just wondering whether or not this coin was a genuine unplated zinc cent. I am aware that chemical fakes are common, so I am somewhat skeptical. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

It lacks detail, so my guess would be a fake.

Sorry, this may also be because of the bad lighting in the photo. I can try to take it out of the casing and post some new pictures if that would help. I do notice a normal amount of detail, but I still am skeptical. Thank for the suggestion, I'll fix the pictures ASAP.

I have recently learned there may be a way to remove the copper plating by placing the zinc cent between two pieces of leather and striking it with a hammer. This removes the copper but leaves the zinc core slightly larger in diameter.
This information is in the, I read it in another web page and have not tested it myself, category of hearsay.
