1909 Edward VS VII Coin - Germany note ?

2 posts • viewed 120 times
Dear friends,

I have a coronation coin Edward VII but there is one point I could not understand. Does anyone have an idea why there is an inscription "GERMANY" below the head of Edward VII?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe - it was an English law that anything imported had to have the
country of origin on it - so it was made in Germany and sent to England.
So it is an abbreviation / variation of 'Made in Germany'.
Maybe.
