Hi

To those more experience than I am apart from Ebay where I get some of my world coins from is there any other sites that sell coins and notes? The only ones that I know off but never bought from is.

Can anyone either list any websites that have a wide range of coins and notes or had any experience of buying from those websites listed above or one you have been using.

Also there should be an article on Numisdoc about websites that sells coins and notes with a list of them.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
Numismatic Outings is a link with a lot of coin dealers which I think might help (should be under your "My account" icon).

Hello Serial_Number_8

Thanks for that but I was mainly focusing on websites that specialise on selling coins and notes either set up by dealers or by companies (listed above).

What are your collecting areas?
Something narrower than World Coins would help members give you better information.

MA-shops has lots of solid dealers from whom I have bought older German, Swiss, and Polish and Italian coins and been very pleased.
Vcoins does too, including at least one of the ones you mention.

There are lots of places running auctions on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis with emphasis on specific countries.

Hi tdziemia

My main goal is to collect at least 3 coins from every country in the world that exists/existed (excluding notgeld) since 1900 but I do have goals within goals for example.
  • Every Socialist heraldic symbol on a coin.
  • Coin on coins
  • Transportation on coins because I like cars and aviation.
  • Fantasy coins that depicts real countries
  • Mexican coins because that’s my home country
  • Commemorative coins
  • I do accept pre 1900 coins into my collection

Thanks for the extra information you should try some of the sites that I’ve linked above.:O

Well ... we don't have so much overlap in our collecting areas, but I often explore one of those dealers you linked and find them to be overpriced on the older coins I collect.

For Mexico, my limited experience is that U.S. eBay is very competitive and a good place if you are a buyer.

Good luck!

If you want books on banknotes, The Banknote Book is a gem.

I just bought an ebook on DPRK (North Korea) banknotes and got a copy on ROK (South Korea) banknotes for free.

Very useful website but the topic is about alternative websites to buy coins and notes from.

Sorry for the delay what was the site that you said was overpriced?
