Struggling to find a value for the coin left by my late father.

Needed to tell the tax man.

100 Pesos F. Castro at the mountain

I have the silver 50 Pesos too, I can get idea of the price if that. But not the gold 100p

Is is mainly its good value (from the taxman's point of view)

THANK YOU!
If it was a gift - no tax if person was alive for 7 years after the gift was made.
I think when you sell it, liable for capital gains tax in case of a profit.
If inheritance - not sure. Inheritance tax limit is set at £325,000 in the UK.
Hope you get the right advice.
Thanks, it's just info on the coin I need. THANKS.

It's typically a tourist item many Americans won't/cant go neat Castro stuff so it's increasing the chances it's the gold value.

Seems a shame as I can't find any evidence of any online sale ever

Assuming you mean this coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces295393.html NGC values it at melt value only.

I would gladly pay bullion value for on of those.

Sorry for you loss.

Hello, hope this answer reaches in time.

Here is an image of J. M. Aledón catalogue, he gives US$ 800 as value of the coin.

Gold hasn't been at $800/ounce since 2008.  How old is your catalog?

Well done, danieluy.

Perfect for the taxman 😉

This one sold for $5,200 USD back in 2019:

Keep in mind that it has been graded and that price includes the buyers' premium.
