1 crown 1990 and newer [solved]

All,

Am i right in assuming that any 1 crown minted in 1990 and later, are in fact £5-00? And as such worth at least £5-00? And that My local bank, or post office will always honour it?

And if so, would this also apply to https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204102044147 - I don't quite understand why someone would have a starting price lower than face value - so probably don't apply to Gibraltar.

Cheers.

Have a good weekend.

Nope it's not a £5 coin, Gibraltar has the authority to set its own monetary laws…

The GIBRALTAR COINAGE ACT, 1990 sets the GBP value of a Gibraltar crown at 25 pence.

Thanks inc.

Would that be the case for Isle of Man (And other crown dependencies ) as well , and £5 for crown coin only applies to uk?

cheers

For Isle of Man the change from 25 Pence/Crown to 5 Pound/Crown is for coins dated 2017 or later.
