Token - French feudal or German Counter Token?

8 posts • viewed 56 times

Hello Folks.

Merry Christmas! I wish you all prosperity, love and happiness. I came across an odd token. It looks like it's one of those counter tokens, but it could be something else. I submitted it on Numista, Patrick (PLH28) recommended first this to go through the forum for identification, because he hasn't seen this as well.

Weight: 2.4

Diameter: 26

It has 4 french lilies and a big cross on reverse with oval shaping around it.

Is there somebody who knows what this is ? Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Stef

A few of them on here already.

It is a French jeton, made in Nuremberg, Germany.

Will find some links …

A few of them I remember having AVE MARIA lettering,

which I see on your second picture. Links to follow …

 One similar example …
