Alamak, I only received the 500 hryvnia the other day, and now I have to look for this one.

I like the looks of banknote, but will never put it in my collection. Not a big fan of propaganda money that is not German lol.

I won’t call it a propaganda note, but more of a statement made by Ukraine. This is just my opinion.

Does anyone know how to buy these from outside of Ukraine/EU?

Their website states they have a “souvenir package” and I'd love to get one of those, especially if I can support Ukraine by doing so, but the e-shop website says it's in “test mode”.

Websites in Ukraine are unstable since they occasionally have blackouts or their hardware is located in a building that is hit by missiles.

Have patience, search the usual online vendors on a regular basis and you will eventually get lucky.

Thanks, that does make sense – although they now unveiled a couple of coins and mentioned buying it in the website, so I'm a bit conflicted if I should try it or not :)

Best way is to order from trusted sources outside Ukraine

I used to buy things from Ukraine without issues, but now, in case your shipment get lost, you might not be able to return it or get money back if you are not happy. There is chaos in terms of supply of goods from Ukraine . In Germany it is pretty easy to get these banknotes without packaging.

Got it, thanks for the information!

I heard that the release date has been pushed back to mid March. Is this correct?

There are plenty of listings on e-bay for this banknote already, and I see they are being sold. Unfortunately, almost all sellers are from Ukraine and price is ridicoulus, 30 dollars with shipping and tax. Hard pass, and I know if i pay, I am never gonna see my money again. I burned myself on Russia WC2018 banknotes which I overpaid by few bucks so I learned my lesson

Yes, there are plenty on sale right now on eBay, but the release on these notes have been delayed until mid March. Many sellers are selling them to capture the early birds market. Back in last February, it was listed between $18 to $20 per note, now, I believe some are still selling for around $21+ each. With 300,000 sets to be issued, I am sure there will be plenty around for collectors. However, given the current crisis in the country, I am sure, many people, including those mums and dads non collectors will be getting them too.

Let me tell you a story. In 2019 the Czech Republic issued a 100 koruna/crown overprint commemorative for general circulation (P28). A total of 200,000 pieces were issued. At that same time, it also released a new commemorative note of 100 kurona (P29) in a folder and the price for this note just went up the sky as only 20,000 sets were only made available. I bought the new commemorative note at a very high price from a collector in the Czech Republic, and he also included the 100 koruna overprint note and sold 2 pieces to me for $5 each. Check out eBay now, as some people are selling this overprint well over $100 each. I do not know if this is the current market value, but you will not get them for $5 per note now. If you have also follow the recent Czech Republic news about the 1000 koruna over print commemorative note that was released on 08.02.2023. Again 200,000 pieces were issued. Late last year, a Czech dealer told me that he will get me 3 pieces at 50% of the premium. On the day of the released, long queue were formed outside the banks, and many people waited for hours to get the notes. The entire series was then sold out within hours. The dealer got some of the note and apologise to me as he changed his mind and wanted to sell the note 3 times the face value.

If you do not get it now, it can be much more expensive later. Just look at the two Polish commemorative notes that issued in 2015 and 2016 (P188 and P188A). Check out how much they are asking for these notes now? Even a collector in Poland asking me if I was interested to exchange with him.

Whilst I have good news for my self, I have also missed few opportunities.

1) China 10 yuan Beijing Olympics at $99

2) Ukraine 50 hryven P125 for $99. Recently, a collector from Ukraine offered me this note and he wanted Australia current series full set x 3 (A$555 face value). He reckoned that this is a fair value for exchange. I did not reply. I was thinking that are my 3 sets UNC AUD sets just worth the FV or should it be worth more? Do you think he will agree if I offer him $555 in circulated notes?

For cheap or low denomination of notes, I will just get one or two and get it out of my huge ego system. For this more expensive notes, I may just wait and see, as not many collectors collect them and as such less competition.

Good luck to you.

p/s sorry for the long-winded post

I honestly think it's fair “overpaying” for these notes (as long as you're buying from Ukrainians, of course).

How can you bargain for a banknote which denounces war crimes, being produced in a war-thorn country, as the war is still ongoing?

A little bit expensive is fine, but don't over do it.

Ok, so I bought it from an Ukrainian on eBay for $18, seems like a fair price. Will probably take a few months  to arrive as I'm in South America, will update when it does.

I have couple of them if someone need.

Same here too. Mails from South America to Australia can take up to 3 months to get here too or even longer. I bought a Honduras 200 lempiras 2021 commemorative note in September 2021 from a seller in Honduras, and arrived here in March 2022. The sad part was that someone punched a perforated tiny rounded hole right in the center of the letter, thus damaging the 3 notes.

Also had a mail from Pakistan and someone stapled the envelope right in the middle to hold the contents together. It was a safe delivery indeed, but a damaged one.

I am sure we all have similar stories to tell too.

Story of my life!

Story of my life!

This same thing happened with me once,

My 10 UNC and 3Used notes were coming from UK . Unfortunately i had another mail from Sri Lanka that day.

The postman , Stapled those two mail together (on the corner but that actually damaged all of my notes and one commemorative stamp sheet.) .

He thought , it will help him to prevent mistakes during deliveries.

From then, He uses paper clips to keep the mails together( if more than one mail come to me in a same day)

Sabit

Received it today, thankfully in pristine condition and incredibly well packaged. I gotta say the note looks a lot better than the pictures I've seen 😆 – I might upload a better scan that does justice to it.

Not many UV features besides a few threads and the Ukrainian flag/ribbons just above the “20” on both sides. The other ribbon with the coat of arms and phrase and logo on the back are holographic. The “gift/collector" package is thick paper/cardboard and the flag on the front has a reflective coating. Inner plastic sleeve is strong and opened on the top and left sides, pretty sure it's PVC.

Very high quality overall!

Congrats, its a really great note.
