Which J (Jaeger) reference contains information about Judenpfennig? [solved]

When I search for Judenpfennig with a J reference I get four hits. But J is supposed to be coins since 1871 and I can't find Judenpennig in the book (27th edition). Did I miss them? Were they in earlier editions?

I also looked in Jäg 6 FHI but I didn't find Judenpfennig there either.

Is there another Jaeger reference that contains Judenpfennig?

hello,

as far as I know: K. Jaeger published his most popular, standard catalog “ german coins from 1871”,  in it there is no “Judenpfennig”.

He published several further catalogs about coins of german states before 1871, I don't have any of them and these seem to cause the references.

The Judenpfennig were struck in the early 19th. Century - so it would be listed under the pre-decimal Thaler currencies.

Thank you. Do you have any idea what reference book that would be?

Krause catalogue 1801-1900 has them listed - under ‘German States’ - Frankfurt, I think.

Let me ask my question again…

Here is a search:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?r=Judenpfennig&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=80&no=*&v=&i=&b=&d=&u=&a=&dg=&m=&f=&t=&w=&mt=&g=&se=&c=&wi=&sw=&ie=

It returns four items. Each has a KM# reference and a JuF# reference. I've checked those and they are correct. They each also have a J# reference. What is it to?

The J# reference should be to “Kurt Jaeger, Michael Kurt Sonntag; 2021. Die deutschen Münzen seit 1871 ” but the numbers aren't right for that. And I can't find the coins in that book.

The numbers also aren't right for Jäg 6 FHI , the only Kurt Jaeger book I know that covers Frankfurt but without the Judenpfennig. They aren't right for C (even ignoring the missing T). They don't match Eklund (not in the reference list).

Someone put the J references in intentionally – what catalog are the numbers from?

Probably this book?

Thank you, that sounds likely.

That book isn't in the Numista reference list. The reference list has a Band (Volume) 2 from 1954 with Anhalt, Baden, this Band 2 with a separate set of states is from from 1969. It looks like there were two series of books. And from the dates in the reference list it appears Numista has some of each.

I obtained the other Jaeger and it has the Judenpfennig.

I requested the addition of this volume so I can fix the references.
