Almost every change on that map was caused by war, meaning death, terror and destruction.
Besides the Balkan war in the 90-ties, Europe has now been peaceful for the last 68 years. A record?
I know a lot of people don't like the EU, but it has at least finally brought us peace. It will probably break apart one day though, and what will then happen?

I love how right near the end Germany suddenly expands to dominate half of Europe before contracting back to practically nothing.....Gee, I wonder what happened there.
