In a bulk lot of coins I purchased recently, I came across a 10 F of Nouvelle Hebrides. The coin is of Type KM#2.2
The coin is in almost uncirculated condition, so there is no doubt about it's date.
According to my research, the coin may have been minted, but never issued.
Did I obtain a rarity?
KM#2.2 was minted from 1973 - 1979. You did not state the year, but the mintage would be between 200,000 and 400,000.

On NGC, the UNC value of this coin would be $2.75.

I stated the year in the topic title :1982.
Yes you have a rarity, they were minted because the English couldn't mint the new coins with the Vanuatu images fast enough after independence so new coins were minted in Paris with the old effigy, only a handful were circulated and most were melted down, only a few still exist

"1982 coins are, strictly speaking, currencies of Vanuatu, independent since 1981. But as the currency of the United Kingdom could not provide timely parts bearing the image of Vanuatu, the Paris Mint struck coins with effigies same as before. Where these currencies 1982 marked French Republic an independent country, Vanuatu. Most of these pieces have not been put into circulation (apart from a small number of 1, 2 and 5 francs) and were revised (Source: Reserve Bank of Vanuatu)"

You can see the page here that shows that they exist (it's all in French)

Yes, WE WANT PICTURES!

And I thought I was lucky managing to pick up one of the silver 100 franc coins.

The coin on the left is a 10F coin of 1979, on the right is the 1982 coin, which of course has the same reverse.I photographed the coins side by side to prove it's size.
For a rare coin as this one, to prove it's the good one, could you please send a picture of the coin in front of a mirror, so we could see both sides in the same time and in the same picture?

With the date in front will be better :)

Thanks ;)

A difficult task, perhaps easier in daylight hours?
Will try again tomorrow!
It's perfect like this, thank you! :)
