How can I turn a normal state quarter into a ring? (that way I can make LOTR fanfic kind of stuff)

(8 Why would you want to use a state quarter?? Why not use an earlier silver quarter? I'm sure the silver is easier to work and the metal value is higher. :O

Why not? if you're going to make some tacky jewellery it may as well be tacky silver jewellery.

I don't even own a silver quarter (except for that canadian one).
Obviously if it's a beautiful seated liberty it would be a travesty to use it for jewellery. But you can pick up a worn old washington quarter for a couple of dollars if you want something to make a ring out of.  
I could understand if he used a state quarter from where he was born. That would be worth while. Also on your first go at this I wouldn't be looking to ruin some silver like..
Silver is a better metal to use as it is significantly less likely to cause an allergic reaction when worn.
Well, it's not like they'd ever be worn.
It is really difficult to hammer down non-silver coins, it takes a lot more force than silver ones.
