Thailand: 20 baht 1996/BE2539, km321.1 / km321.2, differences

Hi,

in the scwc catalog it's written NOWHERE, what the difference between the 2 KM# is.

Erling from Norway found the difference through the World Coin Price Guide, the 321.1 is having a sign in the middle, see the attached documentation, and the 321.2 is supposed NOT to have it. Erling kindly sent me the two coins to document this, thanks Erling.

Now the problem comes. The first coin is having a beautiful full sign, where it should be, but the second coin has got a partial sign, where none should have been! Now the question is, if the km321.2 is just caused by a clugged / filled die, which could be an explanation, since the second coin shows a more or less clogged die to have produced part of the sign? If the sign in the die is fully clogged, then there will be no sign in the middle.

Does any of you have the possibilty to check your km321.x to verify if you also find partial signs or none?

Ole

Hi Ole, i have checked my 321.1 and my 321.2. My first has the unalom, my 321.2 has absolutely no trace of the unalom. I dont know if it matters, but my two coins are from the Krause collection. I think the .1 and .2 need to be catalogued.
