I'm still fairly average at grading coins so I'll ask for some advice here
I have these two
tokens, both are a fairly similar grade but both have different defects and I just can't decide which one to keep and which one to sell.
TOKEN 1
Has some verdigris, but no rim dents and possibly less scratches on the field
TOKEN 2
This one still has some mint lustre, but it is patchy, and has a small rim dent, and a small spot of verdigris. It appears to be more worn or a weaker strike than Token #1. From a distance this appears to be the more attractive coin and I was going to keep this one until I examined them both more closely.
Anyone who is reasonably well versed in this kind of thing - help me out!

The 1st one has some slight corrosion problems but is a higher grade, personally I think I would keep the 2nd one.

Yeah, 2nd one is actually forming patina, 1st one on the other hand is forming rust. This happens often in Copper/Bronze coins as it depends on how the surface molecular structure is to form either or both. As we know pure Copper always has impurities, and those are the ones that determine the result, as well as moisture and porosity.
So 2nd one is a best keepsake for the future as long as you don't get it wet.

I would keep the second, I hate verdigris, never managed to get rid of it definitely in an affected coin!

Yes, but which coin would you toss?

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
