I maked my 500 coin for the UK. I needed 5 more coins and a good friend and great coin collector sent me 5 UK coins. The 500 coin i put in was the new Britannia's renaissance 2015 2 pound coin. What is very fitting. I love Britannia. Thank you Tony very much.
A coin i will remember the rest of my life. And a kind great collector i will always be indebted to

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.

I've only got just over 600 coins in my entire collection. 500 coins from one country is huge.

Ah I see, you collect by date. I thought you were meaning you had 500 different types from the UK.

Congrats on your achievement :)
500 different types would indeed be quite a feat!
I only collect 3 countries by year (and mint mark), but even if you don't consider the year, it does add up to a lot of types.
US 560 coins, 225 types - the repeating types are mostly Lincoln cents and Jefferson nickels
Canada 187 coins, 105 types
USSR 234 coins, 54 types
The rest are by type and mint mark, so the next closest competitor is modern day Russia with 88 coins, 78 types (the 10 repeating types are different mint marks).

Nice one Daryl. I'm not far behind you on that one - currently at 498 coins from the UK, I have 197 different types. Another couple of coins from 2015 and I'll be there.
Phil
Edit: Just gone through a bag of unsorted coins and found a half penny and three pence for years I didn't already have, so now at 500 also

I have 562 coins from the UK (373 types). That's even more coins than I have from my own country (532)!
