Can you help me identify this coin? It is about the same size as a US Silver Dollar (the ones from the 1970s).

dont know the right type yet, but something like this one

Diameter would match
although the bottom line on obverse is a bit different

Don, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I agree that it is probably Ottoman and most likely from the period of Ahmed III, the reverse looks very much like coins from that period but the obverse is quite different. Anyone have any ideas?

The exact diameter is needed to figure out what denomination it is.
It is an X para coin from 1102 or 1106AH(can't see from the pictures - but i'm going to bet on 1102) minted in Edrine. No Edrine coins are on numista as far as i can tell.
