Demonetized UK Coins (Brit. demonetised)

Anyone have reference to a comprehensive list of UK coins that have been demonetized and when? I cannot find such a list on the web. I do know that for each coin on Numista there is a date if it was demonetized but a list would be helpful.
The Royal Mint has a design and spec page for each current coin, clicking on each coin will tell you if previous sizes have been demonetised.

But in short, I think the only demonetised decimal coins are the 1/2p, the large 5p, large 10p and large 50p.
Not sure about the old non bi-metallic £2 coins.
And although the modern crowns (25p and £5) are legal tender, they're never in circulation as far as I'm aware.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
Thanks. That's a big help. I'm trying to value my collection in preparation for selling it. I'm a novice but a good researcher.
Guys I'm traveling to Scotland and I wonder if I can use large (1969-1981) 50 pence coins to buy things?
It seems not: http://www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/coin-design-and-specifications/fifty-pence-coin
Hi kommodore, no you're right, old large 50p's demonetized, only small ones are accepted now. What year large 50s do you have (out of curiosity)??
Hi,
Only high mintage years like 1969, nothing with collector value.

Ok now another thing : the 5 pounds (old 25 pence) has his page in official mint website, it's like they are stating it's a circulating issue: http://www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/coin-design-and-specifications/five-pound-coin

"First Issued4 August 1990 (previously crowns had a face value of 25 pence)
Composition Cupro-nickel ( 75% copper, 25% nickel)
Collector versions have been struck in precious metals"
So they also state that non-circulating issues are only the ones in silver gold etc

Yet on another page they state: "Crowns are issued to mark special occasions rather than for use in general circulation. They are legal tender – for £5 or 25p as described above – but contrary to popular belief this does not mean that banks and retailers automatically have to accept them. Indeed you will probably find that most banks and retailers refuse. Please be aware, however, that the Post Office has agreed to exchange them for goods and services"

They are not very consistent...
The only crown sized coin I ever remember that circulated was the 1981 Charles and Diana 25 pence. As they minted so many, they were giving them as change in some of the larger stores for a while. I think I obtained one from Boots the chemist.
Since then, I have never seen one in circulation. A local bank, now closed, used to accept them, but only to give the face value of 25p or £5.
They were never used as actual currency.
As for the non bi-metallic £2 coins, they can still be spent, but I have not seen one for a long time.
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.
For all you banknote collectors. Link to my swap list.

My local kebab shop accepts them, they have given me a 5 pound coin in change before!
I had a load of £5 coins from auction lots, just found out my bank ( Nationwide ) will let me pay them into my account. Pretty sure other banks will accept them.
Never heard of banks taking them in as actual currency because you can buy them online for less than £5 in a lot of cases. You would get wealthy pretty fast if that was permitted.

So I find it very hard to believe any bank or building society would take them at face value. :|

I have all 6 of the no bi metallic 2 pound could just missing a Scottish variant - but obviously wouldn't try to use them as currency - interesting though if I tried to.
I've recently acquired the last ones I needed, so now have all 7. As far as I know they are still legitimate currency.
