Hi,
I recently purchased a bunch of Franklin Mint proof sets from various republics for a little over silver spot. They're all in their original blisters and fancy cases, however, I'm really just interested in the two silver coins of each set. Would I be an idiot if I broke the sets open and swapped the base metal coins? Thankful for all answers!

I have done it before, and do not regret doing so....
I would be interested in non-silver FM Dollars, if you decide to go forward.

I've done it many times, too - and no remorse whatsoever... many people collect proof coins but not proof sets...
If you get spare "small 1s" (1 cent, etc.) or "big 1s" (like 1 dollar, etc) from those sets, let me know, I am always interested.

Thank you for your answers. I think I'll break them open, then, as soon as I get more coin holders...
