I'm creating an app for tracking collections, and it'd be lovely to be able to import/export coins to and from Numista.
It would be a great feature to help Numista users to develop their own software and especially if we share data with other third party websites.

It's a shame that administration don't want to support such a good idea. :~
Is it true?? No API here??! I was frustrated when finally investigated no mobile app, no API.....

I don't think there is a need for one. The whole site works just fine in a browser on pretty much any mobile device (at least those that I've tried).
What about custom apps? Don't think anything easy just because you are not affected.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that if an API was created, anyone could use that maliciously to download the entire Numista catalog, which in turn could be used to start another website unassociated to Numista. I can therefore understand why Xavier is not creating one.

You are wrong, nothing prevent to download entire Numista catalog without API.
A simple script can do all work to get all data stored by Numista but the idea of an API is more then just get data in a structured way.
