Copy 1888 CC Morgan Silver Dollar

4 posts
So I picked up a group of coin. About 100 in all, mostly pennies, a few foriegn coins, including a good 1938 Un Peso 8 open. I also have an 1888 CC Morgan. Paid less than $15.00.

I know the Morgan is a fake but here is the question. A magnet doesn't stick to the coin and it chemically reacts as silver; so is it likely that it is a silver coin and be worth at least melt value? Maybe plated also?

Thanks in advance.

Are the weight and dimensions correct?
I'll have to check this in the morning. Didn't think about the weight.
Check weight, diameter, thickness and edge. Many of the cheap takes are noticeable by looking at the reeding and rim.
