There is a seam like on the edge of injection plastic molding. Wondering if anyone knew what would cause this. My thoughts it was a die crack but I'm not sure.

Cool, thank you. How many coins could be struck on a cracked die before it's noticed and changed? Just a few or thousands? I figured when they did a quality check and saw it they would destroy all the coins with the flaw.

Sometimes they seem not to do anything about it and use the die as long as possible. That's the case with the
New Brunswick 1864 10¢. You could align the coins according to the size of the die crack on the A of VICTORIA since it expanded as the die kept on being used.
