Dutch or related Gold Ducat 1701?

4 posts
Can someone help me attribute this gold coin I acquired in 2009? The coin is 22mm in diameter, and weighs 3.0 grams including the mount at the top.

My catalogs do not list any Dutch ducats for 1701, and none of the provinces appear to end in ICA in the obverse legend.

The legends are unclear, but the coin also appears to be double struck (note the knight's feet).

Is this a local issue from the Dutch East Indies?

Or contact Arie (webmaster)
But I have some doubts about the coin/medal
The legend should be:
CONCORDIA RES PARvae CREScunt ICA (perhaps TRA ?)

The other site should read:
MOneta ORDinum PROVINCiarum FOEDERatarum BELGii AD LEGem IMPerii
money of the states of the united provinces of the Netherlands according to the law of the Empire
Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
To me, the style is much cruder than the coins in your photos and those in Krause, in addition to the difference in the end of the legend. That is why I was asking in there was a colonial issue that imitated the Dutch ducat.
Thank you for your response.
Maybe Eastern European or Russian imitation? Really strange coin, but also very nice.
