I have a coin but I’m not sure where to begin to find information. It has a number on the side which I assume is Edition number and a .999 fs on it which I assume is the silver content. Pictures attached, any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

I think I've seen something like that before but in cu-ni,
Is it one ounce?

It is stamped .999 FS in the side so i was told it was a pure silver coin. And yes it is a one ounce coin

The one thing I am sure of is that this is not a coin; it was not issued as official coinage (commemorative or otherwise) with a legal tender value by the US Mint. I'd call it a commemorative medallion or token.
Still a very interesting find; if it's 1 ounce .999 AG maybe it's bullion?

Coin was probably a poor choice of words....it was in my great uncles coin collection.....I’ve done searches on the internet but I can’t find any information on it...other than that there are a couple of silver plated copies on eBay but there is no info in the description to tell me anything so I have no clue who even struck it or where it came from...all I know is my great uncle has been dead for almost 30 years so it’s older than that.

Under 11 you can see a "L"...first you must find the name of engraver.

Well I sure don't know, but I've looked quite a bit for these Apollo 12 and 13 tokens (also sold as silver but smaller).:
