That does have similarities. Vijayanagar was suggested as a source, but I think I need to broaden my search. I'll update my title, thanks.
Numista has a couple similar coin with dots and lines, but with additional features as well if you search "Kanarese".
The Zeno entry states "Kanarese Numerical series". Does "series" mean several different coins and maybe mine is a lower one than the pictured coins because it only has dots without additional features?

I think it means that 2 coins from 2 years look rather different:
