Hiyas. I'm looking for a 1936 1 Reichspfennig coin, but the one with the eagle above the swastika. I have seen a few on eBay but these are classed as "Probe" coins and were not for circulation. I am thinking they were made as an "example" before the design was approved.
Any information on these coins would be awesome as well as if anyone has one to sell. I'm just starting out as a collector of 1936 -1945 German WWII coins so have nothing really to trade or swap.

Thanks.

According to my Krause catalogue, the 1 Reichspfennig coin was minted between 1936-1940, with a variety of different mint letters. It is listed as KM#89
The 1936 coin have a mintage of:-
1936A 50,949,000
1936E 150,000
1936F 4,600,000
1936G 2,940,000
1936J 5,421,000 Mints A,G & J have a combined mintage with KM#37, which is not very helpful

I assume that with quite a few minted, it is not really rare. Catalogue values are listed as quite high, so maybe more difficult to get than the mintage figure indicates.

Hmmmmm. I have looked up the 1936 1 Reichspfennig and all I come up with are the "old style" ones without the Swastika. My source of information (eBay) gives the 1936 1 Riechspennig (with Swastika) at over $1000 Australian dollars and refers to it as a "probe". I found only two. One in Germany and the other in Austria. Even the one in Austria was horribly expensive and was described as not for general circulation.

I have just been on the UK part of eBay and found the coin you want valued between €12 & €1000.

Noticed that there are quite a few collectors who have the coin for exchange, but not too sure if it is the actual date you are looking for.
You may need to check out their swap lists

According to the Numista page 3 members have 1936. 1 Reichspfennig available for swap, two of them seem to be active with good feedback and have the 1936 F version of the coin. You could try contacting them to see what they would be willing to swap it for or if they would sell it: https://en.numista.com/echanges/liste.php?piece=1912

Just find a 1936A for €10 including postage. Would you like me to buy it, then perhaps we could do a swap.
There are many Australian coins I need.

1936 A should be the cheapest. Though if you aim at getting scarcer Third Reich coins, as you wrote in another thread here on Numista, try to get 1 Reichspfennig 1936 E, F or G.
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 5000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.

Okies. I have a problem now. I have been able to get myself a 1936 G 1 Reichspfenning German coin. It's nice and in great condition. But then I went and bought another 1936 G 1 Reichspfenning. You may think that I now have two of these. But here's the problem.

One has a swastika, and one does not.

I have been able to find the approximate value of the 1936 G "with" Swastika, but cannot find a listing for the value of the 1936 G "without" Swastika.

Any help would be awesome.

Best I show some pictures of the two coins. Both are 1936 G 1 Reichspfennings.

Is it simply that the one with the Swastika was minted halfway through the year and replaced the one with the wheat chaff?

Yes.

1936 seems to be a transitional year in the imagery used on German coins, with the swastika being incorporated more; most of the circulating Weimar types that began in 1924 ended in 1936. Just look at the two types of the 5 Reichsmark coins issued that year:
