Seems I have 2 1700 crowns, and I don't collect by regnal years so one has to go.
Which would you keep? [note, one is at the bank so I've just used the auction house pics.]
Unc/AU - Tiny chip/flan flaw on the obverse at 1pm, obverse haymarking, some light adjustment marks on the reverse.
EF. Minor haymarking. More annoying adjustments marks on the reverse.

Keep both - you'd have one with good obverse, and one with good reverse
At least until you acquire another good specimen

My preference would actually be to swap instead of sell lol. Way less hassle. Problem is, people generally don't have spares of the things I'd want to swap it for!

The first one has better details for sure... But the second one has a nice patina and a better surface.
The black dots on the first one are quite annoying... But these adjustements marks on the other are too...
Really tough choice.
At first sight I'd say the second one but who knows, maybe yesterday I would have chosen the first...

Just take one at random, with your eyes closed, and keep the other also, why should it go? you do not have
to feed it.

I'd keep the one with adjustment Mark's. They at least tell a story and aren't pmd.

Thanks. I'll probably keep number 2, though I personally find 1 a little more attractive bar the haymarking.
Extremely likely that rim damage is just a tiny flan flaw, not PMD. They are very common on GB coins from this era.

Yes #2. In simple terms - eye appeal.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

Both of them look good to me except for the minor flaws.. I think you should keep both until you replace one with a better one...
