Hi,
currently in Numista catalog for Cyprus coinage from 1983 to 2004 we have the following consolidated coin types:
And this division is rather frivolous and does not reflect the major coin design changes which exist.
I would suggest splitting the above coin types into the following:
1 Cent:
1 Cent (Type 1 coat of arms; single line value number)
1983
1 Cent (Type 1 coat of arms; double line value number)
1985-1990
1 Cent (Type 2 coat of arms)
1991-2004
2 Cents:
2 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms; single line value number)
1983
2 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms; double line value number)
1985-1990
2 Cents (Type 2 coat of arms)
1991-2004
5 Cents:
5 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms; single line value number)
1983
5 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms; double line value number)
1985-1990
5 Cents (Type 2 coat of arms)
1991-2004
10 Cents:
10 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms; single line value number)
1983
10 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms; double line value number)
1985-1990
10 Cents (Type 2 coat of arms)
1991-2004
20 Cents:
20 Cents (single line value number)
1983
20 Cents (double line value number)
1985-1988
20 Cents:
20 Cents (Type 1 coat of arms)
1989-1990
20 Cents (Type 2 coat of arms)
1991-2004
This new splitting will be more flexible for both coin type collectors and date collectors and everyone will benefit from it as it would reflect the existing Cyprus coinage designs more accurately.

I also think that the 1963-82 coins should be listed separately from the 1983-2007 coins - as the 1963-82 coins are denominated in Mils - 1,000 Mils = 1 Pound.
The 1983-2007 coins are denominated in Cents - 100 Cents = 1 Pound.
Aidan.

Dear Aidan, Dear Gebikimame,
I agree with both of you and we discussed with Sulphur to split currencies. I suggest to use below proposed by Sulphur and it is very close to my own vision of it and I think Aidan proposal some times ago
Cyprus - British administration - Pound (1879-1955)
Cyprus - British administration - Pound (decimalized, 1955-1957)
Cyprus - Republic - Pound (decimalized, 1963-1982)
Cyprus - Republic - Pound (decimalized, 1983-2007)
Cyprus - Republic - Euro (2008-date)
I also agree regarding cents split and I'll do so soonest I find the best way how to do it technically.
many thanks
Andrey

And what would be the difference between "
Cyprus - Republic - Pound (decimalized, 1963-1982)" and "
Cyprus - Republic - Pound (decimalized, 1983-2007)"? Both are labelled as "pound (decimal)", so why split these two, when there are no change in design or currency?

The difference is change of small currencies, there were 1000 Mils = 1 Pound (before 1983) and then 100 Cents = 1 Pound (after 1983)

That would be ideal, but there is a bit an issue. At the moment we Sulfur split already mills and cents, but splitting further for Republic and British Administration seems will take time. We have to wait Jarek to implement the idea of different political regimes split. It should be common approach so we have to be patience. I hope it will be sorted soon and then we will have proper logical split. Many thanks for the support of the proposal
My regards
Andrey

I don't know, but it feels like we've lost a lot of picture in the Cyprus catalogue..

In my "Journal of my collection" I have info about changes for 9 Cyprus coins.
